Priscilla is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in working with, and for, children, adolescents, families, adults and older adults confronted with developmental, behavioral, mental health & medical health concerns.
Priscilla’s clinical and administrative background was developed while working for various community, state and private agencies that served clients and their families of all ages and culturally diverse backgrounds. Settings included a hospital, a community mental health center, a visiting nurse association, in-home hospice program, an in-home intensive counseling program, and a private practice providing mental health services.
Priscilla has experience in treating a variety of clinical issues, however, she has a passion for working with children, adolescents, adults and families as they navigate daily life and additional stressors related to issues such as complicated birth experiences, complex trauma histories, addictions, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), community/school conflicts, couples/family relationship challenges, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, grief & loss, adjustment/transition issues, as well as parenting and sibling education & coaching.
Priscilla provides a safe, friendly, and nonjudgmental environment where, together, you can begin a journey together to identify key concerns and goals that you and/or your family want to accomplish. Priscilla helps clients explore why they have been struggling to deal with life’s normal activities as well as additional challenges and stressors. Priscilla offers and provides a variety of therapeutic tools and resources for clients to choose from to help clients achieve their goals and truly live the life of one’s dreams.
In working with Priscilla, you will partner with one another to build an individualized, comprehensive plan with concrete objectives while learning how to achieve your goals through the use of an eclectic toolbox of evidence-based therapeutic approaches individualized for, and most importantly, with you which may incorporate trauma informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and mindfulness techniques. Advanced skills and treatment activities include active listening, creative arts activities, journaling, therapeutic games, identification and development of community/peer supports, and family/parenting/sibling coaching/educational activities.
