Geri Lopez is bi-lingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Counselor in the state of New Jersey. There, they treat individuals, children, and parents in a clinic setting and via telehealth. Holding a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Jersey City University, Geri’s culturally competent approach is enhanced by their proficiency and training in various therapeutic frameworks, including Trauma-Informed Therapy through a systemic lens, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Play therapy, and Child Parent Relationship (CPRT) Training.
Geri brings a special type of energy to therapy. They truly believe that their clients have the ability to create transformative, sustainable change. They focus on understanding the complete narrative of a person’s life before addressing the specific issues that brought them to therapy. Geri listens with the intent to understand, employing a collaborative approach that encourages exploration, discussion, and the challenging of thoughts and feelings. Together with their clients, Geri helps create meaningful goals as Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTSI). In this role, they offer therapy services to individuals, couples, and families, addressing issues such as life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and gender/sexual identity development. Their compassionate, holistic and ethical approach helps serve their unwavering commitment to fostering resilience and promoting mental well-being across diverse populations."
