Gabriella is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with experience working with adolescents, adults, and families dealing with developmental milestones and life transitions, family and relationship conflict, as well as depressive, adjustment, and anxiety disorders. She also takes a particular interest in perinatal mental health and working with members of the LGBT community.

Gabriella has experience assisting individuals and families who are seeking help coping with a range of psychological, emotional or behavioral challenges. She has worked with those facing depressive and adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, as well as grief and loss. Some of her work has included helping adolescents, young adults and their families with social skills, executive functioning, school refusal, identity formation, and parenting education. In working with this population, Gabriella has guided these clients through peer and family conflict with a focus on increasing communication skills, improving emotional regulation, and establishing healthy boundaries. Gabriella has a special interest in the perinatal population, and has supported clients who are facing the joys and challenges of welcoming a newborn into the world-including the many changes brought forth for both parents and siblings. She has aided clients in adjustment to the maternal role, issues around attachment, time management, and self care. Gabriella is also passionate about helping LGBT individuals who may face additional issues due to societal and family expectations. While taking an affirming stance, she has worked closely with this population on issues of identity development, self esteem, and increasing a sense of belonging in the midst of family and community acceptance and rejection. Additionally, Gabriella’s work is guided by an understanding of multicultural and acculturation issues, as she assists families of various ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Gabriella is a down to earth, warm counselor whose goal is to provide her clients with a supportive therapeutic environment in which to authentically explore their experiences, thoughts, and feelings, while also seeking to empower and uplift them. Through a compassionate and insightful approach, her aim is to help individuals and families better cope with stressors, improve decision making, and increase their well being. Gabriella prides herself on remaining empathetic and non judgmental as she lends the support needed for her clients to create more meaningful, fulfilling lives while navigating any challenges they may face.

Gabriella’s treatment philosophy is grounded in her training in various modalities, including Person-Centered Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT/DBT), which she integrates into her counseling interventions. Through these interventions, clients are encouraged to challenge negative thinking, identify unhealthy behaviors and responses, manage stressful emotions, as well as to recognize and improve upon personal strengths. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families to recognize and embrace their capacity to gain insight into their life experiences and bring about desired change. It is Gabriella’s goal to first meet clients where they are, and to establish a therapeutic relationship in which her clients feel listened to and understood, allowing the healing and transformative value of the therapeutic process to take place.
