Accepting NJ and NY clients
Graduate School: Colombia University, Masters of Social Work
Ali is a Licensed Social Work (LSW) in New Jersey and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in New York. She has vast experience in working with adults facing a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, postpartum and reproductive mental health, dating and relationship issues, life transitions and eating disorders. Ali has a specialized interest in women’s mental health issues, and has written publications, including one on pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Ali practices from a psychodynamic modality, while also providing holistic, individualized treatment to each client. She is formally trained in CBT from the Beck Insititute, DBT skills, Gottman Method for couples, and Perinatal Mental Health, as well as infant loss from Postpartum International. Ali pulls from these evidence based modalities, as well as psychoanalytic theory, such as attachment theory, in order to best serve the client’s individuals needs.
Ali believes that therapy is a two pronged approach. That is, looking at and processing how the past has shaped the present, along with managing the current issues at hand with a variety of coping skills, in order to meet your goals. Using this approach, individuals can begin to heal, while simultaneously gaining confidence and feeling equipped to take on whatever challenge a person is facing.
